Leg and Foot Ulcers
Ulcers are open sores or wounds that heal slowly, or continue to return. Ulcers can often be painful; other symptoms include open sores, pus and pain, swelling, and generalized pain in the affected limbs.
Ulcers are often the result of poor circulation. People with diabetes are at particular risk; left untreated, diabetic foot ulcers can often necessitate amputation. Heart disease, high cholesterol, smoking, high blood pressure and kidney disease will also put people at additional risk.
At Modern Vascular & Vein Center, our goal is limb preservation and amputation prevention. We have significant experience and tools to open those clogged blood vessels to help heal those sores and wounds on your feet.
